Agricultural Extension Services

Agricultural extension services consist of training and equipping farmers with modern farming techniques that improve yield, efficiency and return. This is accomplished by small group trainings, one-on-one farmer consultations, and coordination with the Business Department for training on business administration skills.

These services are open to farmers who are clients of AMPATH. Trainings focus on crops identified as high-value cash crops, while consultations also advise on issues related to traditional crops. Client farmers are trained in the proper planting, raising and management techniques of the various crops.

Current crops include passion fruit, soy bean, and hot pepper with additional crops being piloted with a small number of farmers. Please see Amkatwende Agricultural Cooperative for information on FPI’s farmer cooperative.
